Cyber Kids Robotics Summer Camp Kick-Off

The Cyber Kids Robotics Camps kicked off this week with a four-day work session at Pinebrook Elementary School. Thirteen students formed two teams and learned how to build, program, and run LEGO Mindstorm robots through a variety of tasks.  Teamwork was the focus of the camp as students worked cooperatively in various roles.

Mebane Masters, NCSTEM Collaborative and local funds are supporting summer camps and teams for the upcoming school year at Pinebrook, Cooleemee, Shady Grove, Ellis, and North Davie Schools. Each team will compete in local and state competitions throughout the 2010-2011 school year.

    Looks great…saw lots of boys…hope there was lots of girls, too!

      The CyberKids Robotics Teams were selected by the principals at each school. Both boys and girls are part of these teams and will compete locally and at regional and state competitions.

    This is an amazing opportunity for our kids to be a part of! I am very excited to see the Pinebrook kids learning more about technology. I believe this could be a great adventure for many kids and the school. A character builder!
