Davie County STEM Education Leadership Team
Background: During the summer of 2009, Davie County was selected to participate in the NC STEM Community Collaborative. The NC STEM Community Collaborative is a STEM education initiative funded through MCNC and made possible by the generosity of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Davie County was selected by NC STEM on the basis of 3 strengths vital to success in innovation for STEM education:
- Significant evidence of innovation in education
- Well established local partnerships
- A strong desire to prepare students for the education and economic demands of the future
Leadership: An “Innovation Design Team” for STEM education in Davie County has been established and is working hard to lead our local efforts under the auspices of the state-wide NC STEM Community Collaborative. Members of the Davie County Innovation Design Team are:

The well established local partnerships are evident once again as Davie County government, education and community leaders have come together in this important collaborative effort.
